SoCal gun show
13 bux to get in. Nothing all that great there, ok prices to be had on used shotguns and 30-06/bolt rifles and some pistols. Some neat stuff that was ridiculously overpriced (CA legal 50 cal's) and some nice carbines to be had (at ridiculous prices). ammo available but prices not that great, better deals online. In terms of magazines, there was slim pickins and overpriced, obviously only 10 round mags. Lot of AR uppers and parts, again ridiculous prices.
I rolled with a couple nice "green piece" t shirts, a fire starter tool, some mags for my beretta, a bushnell laser boresighter and got a decent deal on some L IV plates for me and the wife. I was hoping to find some deals on something decent in the black dept. but it's gonna have to be a build it yourself deal here on out. Way too expensive. |

Re: SoCal gun show
There was also a gun show in so. ore this past week end, got there right after it opened and had to wait for 25 min to get in. Once in wall to wall people in a small building. There were a couple AR's for 1500.00 to 2300.00 and 1 Ak for 2250.00 . Alot of hand guns priced above what I could purchase new from the big box stores. I did not see hardly any ammo, but alot of knifes. I overheard alot of people saying everthing was over priced. Bk

Re: SoCal gun show
I avoid crowds.
Anyplace takes 25 minutes to get in, I am going 25 minutes in the opposite direction. That is my policy. |
Re: SoCal gun show
that is why i'm self employed, less idiots to deAL with. portland real slow tonite, just got back from run. more vacant buildings/businesses every week@ here. talked to a pal in flint mich today, sez the economy is pathetic. could be a long winter. large crowds and guns...bad juju

was meaning to go to that OC show. any coin dealers? |
Re: SoCal gun show
Yeah there was one coin dealer. All numismatic. Or at least he thought so :) Had a lot of stuff on show but it was mostly graded stuff and I don't play in that.

Re: SoCal gun show
Ran in to Irish John when I got back from the four corners. He went to the OC show, said it was madness. Crowds made it take forever to get in, and he said you couldn't get near Miwall's table - any of them. When you finally did it turned out they were out of a lot of stuff.
I'm with Fullpower. I want nothing to do with crowds, and for this reason I'm backing out of the SAR/Crossroads show. Crowds are a big no-go for H7. :no_ma: |
Re: SoCal gun show
You invested wisely if you didn't bother. It's a circus. Granted I hit the second day and probably missed the serious craziness. For comparison sake, in a gun I know well, the howa 1500 in a .223 with hogue dressing was running 700 bux. I got that same gun WITH A SCOPE for like 400 a couple months back and thought that was rape.
They didn't have any rollercoasters and the water was $3.50 at every vendor. I think it's a money thing, perhaps. I only "saw" like 3 law enforcement officers the whole time with people having guns all over the place and plenty of access to ammo. I thought that was funny as shit. The police didn't look real comfy. In comparison, my local church had a fair/carnival with rides and food and fun, and there was metal detectors to get in, at least 75 cops walking the premises and many more patrolling the parking and surrounding blocks. Must have been a lot of undercovers at the gun show? |
Re: SoCal gun show
you go to the one this past weekend?
holy smokes! long lines to get in! 3 people deep around the ammo stands! |
